3 Phases for a Social Media Marketing Plan for Presentations [Infographic]

In the weeks leading up to your presentation, you can increase your impact with a social media marketing plan. Build your leads and spread your message to a wider audience by being active online. There are many ways tackle a marketing plan that can help promote your presentation. But if you are looking for a simple plan to start off with, here are 3 phases for a social media marketing plan for presentations.

Phase 1: Pre-Presentation

Step 1: Create A Landing Page.

Make a website for your presentation by creating its own landing page on your website. Most website hosting sites like WordPress and Wix allow you to make a separate landing page just for your presentation. You can post all the necessary information that your audience needs to know before the event on this page, and share the link on your social media accounts.

Step 2: Make Lists.

By adding a form on your landing page to collect names and emails, you can use that information to include in your emailing lists. Websites like HubSpot help you track new guests who visit your site and organize their information. Adding new names to your drip campaign can help promote your presentation to a larger audience, and stay in touch with fans of your work.

Step 3: Publicize Your Event.

Now that you have a landing page for your presentation and a new list of people to email, promote your event online on all platforms. Schedule social media posts that include the link and information on your presentation with the help of sites like HootSuite. Write out and schedule emails to go out each week. Get graphics designed to promote your event and get your posts shared. In the days leading up to your presentation, make publicizing a priority.

Phase 2: During Presentation

Step 1: Make A Hashtag.

Before you begin your presentation, make up a hashtag to share with your audience. Make sure your hashtag is included on numerous slides in the presentation. Ask your audience to share your unique hashtag on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook so you can track your impact online. This not only helps you gain new followers, but it’s a great way to engage with your audience.

Phase 3: Post-Presentation

Step 1: Share Slides Online:

Now that your presentation is over, you may have audience members asking for your full presentation or some slides. You can meet this demand by posting your entire presentation or a watered-down version of it online. Sites like SlideShare allow you to upload your presentation and create a shareable link for it. This is a simple way to email your presentation and post an embedded link on your website.

Step 2: Follow Back Your New Followers.

With that hashtag you created, take time to follow back all the audience members who took time to share that hashtag online. Build your social media presence by staying active and involved with your online audience.

Social media marketing plans can be as simple or complex as you want them to be. For your presentation, make sure you are building up anticipation and interaction before the event, motivating your audience during the event, and staying involved afterwards.
