10 Slides Every Investor Pitch Deck Needs

Pitch decks can come in a variety of forms. Some use heavy data and research to sell a product. Others use personal stories to inspire an audience to invest in their company. No matter what your end goal is, every investor pitch deck must include a few crucial slides. Take the lead from this presentation structure to build your own successful pitch deck.

The Vision

What is your company all about? Everyone has a backstory that’s unique to their personal experiences. Share your story with your audience to win their trust and interest. Impressive charts and promising outlooks are vital details to include, but stories are easier to process and will last longer in your audience’s memory. Lay down the foundation of the vision for your company at the start of your pitch deck to warm up your audience.

The Problem

What is causing your audience setbacks? Explain each obstacle your audience must face day-to-day and how you became aware of them. This discovery story establishes your credibility as an expert in your industry. Build trust with your audience by making them aware of the problem you aim to solve.

The Solutions

How do you solve your audience’s problem? Now that you have established your understanding of the audience’s struggles and frustrations, offer them an answer. Make sure your solution is unique and innovative in order to stand out. Show your audience that you have a bulletproof plan to provide the solutions they need.

The Opportunity

Why should someone invest in you? You’ve offered your solutions to a problem; now you need to prove why your solution is worth the investment. List all the benefits that come with your company or product. Persuade your audience to take this incredible opportunity to partner with you.

The Product

What are the inner-workings of your product? This is a technical slide to explain the intricate details of how your product works or what your company does. A step-by-step illustration or animation is an effective way to show this to your audience. Make it clear and concise.

The Case Study

What’s a real-life example of your product at work? Provide a case study to explain the successes and challenges of your client experience. Describe the evolution of your product based off real client feedback. If you don’t have a case study prepared, use testimonials or reviews.

The Team

Who is your team of experts? Show your audience who your support system is and how each team member serves a special purpose to keep the wheels turning. Give them a proper introduction to establish a connection with your potential investors.

The Business Model

How will you fund your company? Your business model needs to explain where the contributions you need from your investors will go. Their funding could be used to hire more leadership roles, open an office, or buy the materials you need. Highlight all the areas where you will use the funding from your investors.

The Market

Where do you see the future of your company going? Use research and data to map out how your company will grow in the industry. Compared to your competitors, explain how you plan to perform better than them. Introduce other products or solutions you are in the process of developing. Express every forward-thinking thought about your company on this slide.

The Pitch

What do you want your audience to do now? You told your stories, presented your solutions and backed up your claims with data. Now, strike your power pose and tell your audience what you want. This slide is all about a strong call to action that will motivate your investors to partner with you.

Of course, all pitch decks are unique, but using these 10 slides is guaranteed to hit your presentation out of the ballpark. Need help crafting your message or honing your presentation skills before the big day? Give us a shout, and we’ll make sure your investor pitch deck is unforgettable.
