A Thought on Everyday Relevance

There are so many companies out there who build irrelevance everyday.  Surprisingly, in times like these when they need to stand out more they are choosing to do less.  Stop for a minute and try to think of a few. They are all around you. Can’t think of any? Here are some examples – Radioshack, BIG 5 Sporting Goods, Kmart, etc. They’re surviving, but they’re terrible. 

Now… what about those companies who build relevance everyday – Apple, Harley-Davidson, In-N-Out Burgers, etc. 

See and feel the difference? 

The same applies to you – how are you building relevance?   More importantly, are you capitalizing on those opportunities when you get to sell yourself?  Did you seize the moment with your last sales pitch, board presentation, or keynote speech?  I hope you did.  We are now at the end of January – 11 months left in the year.  This is the time for change.
