In honor of the 2008 Olympic Games, this is the opening speech from former Presidential Candidate, Mitt Romney welcoming everyone to Salt Lake City.
Content
Romney did a great job organizing his content. He appealed to the Olympians as well as their families.
"We salute you Olympians. Both because you dreamed, and because you paid the price to make your dreams real."
He inspired his audience to dream and achieve great things.
"In such a world, the greatness of achievement will be measured by the greatness of dreams and by the fire and passion in the hearts of the dreamers."
There was a clear beginning, middle, and end. The message was strong and impacting.
Design
No design to critique, really. The background and scenery in general are beautiful.
Delivery
The opening was strong and enthusiastic. The middle lacked a bit, especially when he threw a fist in the air as a sort of "hoorah" moment. What is this, a speech or a clip from Rocky? Let's take this as a lesson on not faking your enthusiasm. People can tell. As for the ending, it was a great line, but it lacked that enthusiasm. It seemed very rehearsed. Overall, the delivery was compelling, he just didn't consistently hold my attention.
